Big Ali is an American rapper, DJ, and hype man, born in Queens, New York and based in Paris since the early 2000s, who has lent his booming voice to a string of European dance hits. He is best known as a featured, energising presence on other artists' records, which makes his own-name catalogue a borderline case here.
That catalogue gathers around one track. "WatiBigali", released in 2012 with the French collective Wati B, is a big, club-ready party anthem, and it became his most-streamed release under his own billing.
On streaming, "WatiBigali" sits near 15 million plays, while his next most-streamed track trails at around two million. That puts the ratio above 6, past our 5.0 line.
By our measure Big Ali is a certified one-hit wonder under his own name, with the caveat that as a hype man he has been part of several huge dance hits, including Bob Sinclar's "Rock This Party". It is simply that, billed solo, one booming party anthem stands far ahead of the rest of his catalogue. As a hype man his voice has set countless dancefloors alight on other artists' records, yet under his own name a single club anthem carries the whole story.
